Payment
No. You can open an account without providing your credit card number. Because we are using 3rd party payment processors like PayPal, we shall never require your credit card info. For account creation, we require only your name and email.
In the app, we accept payments through PayPal. All major credit and debit cards are accepted, including Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover. Request for invoicing is provided within the app.
Contact our sales department for additional information or, if you prefer another method of payment, such as direct bank transfer.
Yes, we do charge 19% VAT but, if you can provide a valid EU VAT number for your business, your purchases will be VAT-free. You may enter your business information and validate your VAT number during account registration or within the App in the My Account area.
We don’t. However, if there are exceptional circumstances, please contact us and we will try to find a solution, if possible.
Pricing
To cover storage and machine resources, you are charged a flat hourly rate (depending on machine type). In addition, when the machine is not in use, you are charged a small hourly rate to cover storage costs.
We do not charge you any access or monthly fees to secure the resources. You only pay for what you need when you need it. When you delete a machine, it is removed from your account and no additional fees are charged.
Never. You have complete control over when you wish to buy deskbump credits. You can deploy or use your machines as long as you have credits in your account. When your credits are spent, the machines automatically stop. If you do not add more credits to your account in the 7 days grace period, your machines will be automatically deleted and cannot be recovered.
SPOT machines are highly affordable compute instances suitable for batch jobs and fault-tolerant workloads. They offer the same machine types, options, and performance as the regular machines. If your applications are fault tolerant and can withstand possible instance preemptions, then SPOT instances can reduce your costs considerably!
SPOT machines are very stable overall but they may shutdown automatically from time to time as they have no guaranteed uptime. Make sure you save your work regularly when using a SPOT machine to avoid loss of your work.
Yes, there is a modest fee that will be levied exclusively for machine storage. But don’t worry, it’s a tiny charge that only occurs when your deskbump computer is turned off, not when it’s running. We charge €0.00028/hour/SSD-GB for stopped computers (for example, a 50GB SSD machine will be charged €0.014/hour when not running, so only 1.4 cents per hour).
Under “My account / notifications” in the deskbump app, you have total control over the kind of alerts you can get in the app, Windows tray, or email. You may select to get informed when your credits are running low, among other things. We can, for example, inform you if you forgot a machine running for more than X hours, and you can set the X to any value between 1-99 hours.
Service
There are two distinct groups. CPU only machines and GPU machines. For the time being, each category has 5 machine types available. The differences between the machines are: storage size, number of cpu cores, ram amount and gpu type. A machine with less resources will be slower, but it will also be less expensive, and vice versa.
Yes and No. We are working on the App functionality, and everyone will be notified when this feature is ready. But, in the meantime, we have a solution. You can create a new machine with the revised specs, and we can migrate the SSD storage from your prior computer to the new one. You can then delete your old computer. In principle, you can upgrade or downgrade your machine, but we must do it for you 🙂
Our servers are located in the central United States, but if you need your machines to be closer to your actual location, we can arrange that by deploying a customized machine profile built for your needs.
We can practically deploy our computers anywhere in the world because we are leveraging the Google Cloud infrastructure. We chose the central United States since there, the machine price was the lowest, and we wanted to provide our customers with the best price/performance ratio possible.

You do not need to delete your account because we do not bill you on a monthly basis. You just need to remove all of your deskbump computers, and your account will be free of charge until you need new computers.
However, if you still wish to remove your account, please contact us and we will do it on your behalf.
